So much for any drying prior to the 2010 Kentucky Derby start time.  The weather was getting really ugly all around Louisville heading into the 2 pm EST hour and things looked much worse on the horizon.

Heavier rain bands were just south and west of the region and it appeared this area of moisture would be moving in just before race time.

Gambling911.com continues to advise against placing a wager on Line of David, fearing this horse could get scrapped as conditions worsen.

The mud-loving horses are still the one's to monitor.  They include Backtalk, Super Saver (which was getting the most action early on), Devil May Care, Mission Impazible, Discreetly Mine and Paddy O'Prado.

This is not to say that the favorites like Lookin' At Lucky and Sidney's Candy will not prevail.  There is just not enough information to determine how they would react to a muddy surface.

The only constant here is that we know Line of David will not be run in sloppy weather.  There was rain falling this hour in and around the Louisville area, though they remained on the Northern edge of this system.
