120x60 £

The Nunthorpe Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race in Great Britain which is open to thoroughbreds aged two years or older. It is run at York over a distance of 5 furlongs (1,006 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in August.  The Nunthorpe Stakes is one of a limited number of races in which two-year-old horses can compete against their elders.

Early betting action had the favorite, Hoof It, getting the most love from punters.

Golf’s number 2, Lee Westwood, has bought into this horse along with his manager Chubby Chandler.

Chandler told the Daily Mail: 'We can't believe the way the horse has progressed. At Goodwood there were 27 Amir Khans and one Mike Tyson. We had Mike Tyson because he's a brute.

'Lee and I paid £15,000 for our half of Hoof It and we've had a lot of fun and made a lot of money because his wins have not been at short odds.'
