The Duke of York Stakes 2011 will be held Wednesday May 11, 2011 with Regal The Duke of York Stakes 2011 will be held Wednesday May 11, 2011 with Regal Parade the 11/2 favorite at William Hill.  The weekend’s rain has likely provided Regal Paradise with an edge.

The Duke of York Stakes is a Group 2 flat horse race in Great Britain, which is open to thoroughbreds aged three years or older.  It is run at York over a distance of 6 furlongs (1,207 metres).

Delegator currently had odds to win the Duke of York Stakes set at 8/1. That is Simon Holt of Sportinglife.com's pick.

The horse I really like is Delegator who is a horse of considerable class who ran very well in the 2000 Guineas in his three-year-old season.

Last year he ran just three times, winning first time out, finishing fourth to Red Jazz in the Challenge Stakes on Champions Day and well beaten in the Breeders' Cup Mile behind Goldikova.

He wasn't disgraced though and is capable of a very high level of performance. He drops back to six furlongs here and I think he has the speed and the class to cope. First time out could be the time to catch him.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
