Drosselmeyer Wins the Breeders Cup Classic 2011

Drosselmeyer has won the Breeders Cup Classic 2011 with odds of 25-1.

Mike Smith defeated his ex-girl friend Chantal Sutherland, who led much of the way with Game On Dude and finished second.   This was won right at the wire.

Game On Dude and Uncle Mo had led much of the way.

The Associated Press had this to say about Drosselmeyer, last year’s Belmont Stakes winner:

Trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott, Drosselmeyer is 1-for-6 since the Belmont victory, but the 4-year-old seems to be rounding into form. He was second behind Flat Out most recently in the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park. And he can handle this track, scoring his first win at Churchill Downs in 2009.

Smith had the most wins in Breeders Cup history at 15.

Malaysian Horse Racing: A History of the Sport

The history of horse racing in Malaysia is largely influenced by Australian racing. The country's interest in racing was first evident in the 1880s, when organizers began setting up large race meetings twice a year. In 1896, the Straits Racing Association and Penang Turf Club were established. As a result, horse racing in Malaysia has a rich history.
