The Delta Jackpot Stakes features a $1 million purse taking place in Vinton, Louisiana Saturday. It is run on 8.5 Furlongs of dirt.  The Grade III stakes race is open to two-year-old horses.

Goldencents was the odds on favorite at 9/5 odds, however, Bern Identity at 5/2 odds, Know More at 3/1 odds and Hightail at 7/2 odds were all considered tight competitors coming into Saturday’s race.

Goldencents and Know More both come from the barn of Kentucky Derby winning trainer, Doug O’Neill.

“I look for big efforts from both of them,” said O’Neill. “Both colts are extremely talented, and the great thing is they won’t conflict with each other because they’ve got contrasting styles.”

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
