Sportinglife.com advises not to ignore High Standing and his 25 to 1 Blue Square Stewards’ odds at the final day of Glorious Goodwoods.
Hoof It, who looked magnificent at the Sky Bet Dash at York last weekend, is the favorite at 6/1 odds at 888.com. But High Standing could be the dark horse here (no pun intended).
Very rarely do you get to back a horse of his class at such a huge price when he has plenty in his favour but that's exactly the scenario we have here.
He won on his only previous visit to Goodwood, he loves a big-field handicap as his Wokingham victory in 2009 proves and he's at his best over six furlongs on good or faster ground coming off a furious pace.
On top of all that he's dropped to a mark of 103 - just 5lbs higher than when he won the Wokingham - and it's not as if he's been badly out of form.
Oddsmakers and horse bettors may have gotten wise to this. High Standing had been listed at 33/1 odds earlier.
