Did American Pharoah become the first horse in nearly 40 years to win the Triple Crown?  The answer to that quation....

American Pharoah Wins the Triple Crown.  There had not been a winner of a Triple Crown since 1978 when Affirmed won it.

American Pharoah had been favored between -130 and -150.  Frosted and Materiality each had odds between 5-1 and 6-1 with the second shortest odds.

Frosted came in second.  Keen Ice, a big long shot, finished third.

The ratings for this year's Belmont Stakes was anticipated to be among the highest in years.
