American Pharoah has won the 2015 Preakness Stakes in the slop that came about from heavy rains hitting Pimlico right at race time.

American Pharoah’s Preakness win was much more impressive than his victory at the Kentucky Derby.

Divining Rod and Tale of Verve finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively.  Dortmund finished 4th.

Torrential downpours hitting just minutes before the start of the race and continuing throughout its duration resulted in a muddy track.  American Pharoah and Mr. Z were the only horses with experience running in the slop.  Both led early on.
