American Pharoah latest Preakness Stakes odds had him with the best price of -125 at BetPhoenix.

“We have seen odds over -150 so BetPhoenix was offering the best price as of Friday afternoon,” Tyrone Black of Gambling911.com noted.

American Pharoah was the favorite to win the 2015 Preakness Stakes.  He is trained by Bob Baffert and will be ridden by Victor Espinoza.  Baffert is a perfect 3-0 with horses that were victorious in a Kentucky Derby going on to win the Preakness. Espinoza is

Espinoza won the Kentucky Derby three times (including the past two years) and has also won the Preakness Stakes on two occasions.

Even the competition thinks American Pharoah will have a tough time losing.

"I almost think he has to have some bad luck to lose," said six-time Preakness winner D. Wayne Lucas, who will saddle Mr. Z in Saturday's race. "I think he's the best horse. You stand here and you're in the race and selfishly you want to do it — I'll try everything in the world to try and beat him — but after you've been in 35 of these you get a little realistic, too."

Baffert expects American Pharoah to run better in Baltimore, and he's not alone. Lukas is convinced the Derby champ has yet to show his best.

"He was the best horse when he didn't bring his 'A' game," he said. "That's what you've got to consider. He won the Kentucky Derby and I don't think he brought his A game that day."

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
