2012 Kentucky Derby Morning Lines

The official 2012 Kentucky Derby morning lines were announced from Churchill Downs with Bodemeister installed as the new favorite.  You can bet the Derby online at Bookmaker where lines may differ.  You can get up to $2500 in FREE CASH plus 8 percent cash back rebates for qualified customers.

Bodemeister became the Derby morning favorite immediately after the post position draw with odds of 4/1.

Union Rags had been the favorite but was pushed back a half point to 9/2.

Daddy Long Legs – 30/1

Optimizer – 50/1

Take Charge Indy – Ridden by Calvin Borel from a solid post position, this horse has terrific value at 15/1

Dullahan is running from one of the best post positions at number 5.  He was listed at 8/1.

Rousing Sermon – 50/1 odds

Creative Cause – 12/1 odds from a position that has produced four winners in the past two decades.

Trinniberg – 50/1 odds.

Daddy Knows Best – 11 winners have come from the number 10 post position and, at 15/1 odds, there is certainly some value here.

Alpha – His odds got longer due to this poor post position of 11 that has not produced a winner since 1988 and only two previous to that year.

Prospective – 20/1

Went The Day Well – 20/1

Hansen – One of the worst post positions.  Hansen drew the 14 with a morning line of 10/1.

Gemologist – A decent post position at 15 producing 4 wins since 1984.  His morning line was listed at 6/1.

El Padrino – 20/1 running from the post position 16 that delivered last year’s winner, Animal Kingdom, however, only three winners have come from this spot.  What are the odds it happens twice in a row?

Done Talking – 50/1 from post position 17 that has never produced a winner.

Sabercat – 50/1

I’ll Have Another – Will be running from the 19 spot that has never produced a Derby winner.  Odds were 12/1, which Gambling911.com believes is some really bad value.

Liaison – 50/1 long odds.
