Kentucky Derby Betting

(Sportsbetting.com Wire) - The Kentucky Derby betting odds have long been out and Sports Betting is ready for your horse betting picks. But, to help you get even more prepared and hyped to enjoy Kentucky Derby betting, we've amassed the latest from on and around the track at Churchill downs.

- Horse betting experts are talking about post 1 and post 20, and how it's hard to win from both of those positions, even if Lookin At Lucky at 3-to-1 and Sidney's Candy at 5-to-1 are your two Kentucky Derby favorites on the inside and outside. But what some people aren't talking about is that Big Brown won this race from post 20 just two short years ago. Sure, Big Brown was a superior horse, but his victory showed that anything is possible and that Sidney's Candy has as good a shot as any horse.

- Did you know that Devil May Care is the only filly in this race? She will go up against 19 male horses for the derby's top prize. Oddsmakers and Kentucky Derby odds bettors aren't holding that against her. She is listed at 10-to-1 to win the race, so keep an eye on what this miss will do from post 11.

- The weather looks more and more like it will be a factor in this race. If so, it means we have to start thinking about the horses that have had some success in the slop. In his only race in the slop, Super Saver boasts a seven-length victory. Mission Impazible lost by a head in his only slop race. Meanwhile, the previously mentioned Devil May Care actually has a career win in the slop. Her debut was on a wet track and it was a convincing win. Of course, it goes without saying that horse owners and trainers are hoping for a dry track.

-Trained by legendary trainer D. Wayne Lukas, a mutiple winner of the Kentucky Derby, Dublin at 12-to-1 will start from post 17. What you have to like is his bloodline tie to Afleet Alex, the 2005 third place winner at the Kentucky Derby who went on to win the Preakness and Belmont races that year. Trainer Lukas liked this horse from the minute he saw him and says he's his best horse since his 1999 Kentucky Derby winner Charismatic.
