Jazz Sports, which has operated out of Costa Rica since 1996, has informed customers of a withdrawal hold they say is only "temporary".

This hold appears to only apply to "non-recreational" players.

Arbitrage_Joe on Twitter posted:

"PSA: Jazz Sportsbook (https://t.co/6SatcTNUWg) is not paying out players. Myself and others have payouts perpetually pending."

Slow pay issues at Jazz Sports have persisted for the past year now.  Some customers were placed on installment plans whereby only a maximum amount would be paid each month.

Vegas Horse Pools on Twitter was the first to reach out to Gambling911.com last year.

The respected sports bettor messaged:  "I have a bunch of people that need help getting their money out of them."

Another well known figure in the world of sports betting, Joey Tunes, elaborated further on past issues involving Jazz Sportsbook while offering a ray of hope.

"They had problems years ago, Borrowed money form my friend. They are terrible books, they're pph is strong though 25k + guys."

Jazz Sports responded that "All players get paid every cent that’s in their account.

"As usual, there are payout limits in place for our customers.

"If a group is found to be in violation of rules, then we reduce the payout limits to discourage that behavior, but ALL players are getting paid.

"We have found we had a large group of customers (35+) that were all betting the exact same thing at the same time to avoid limit rules. We could have canceled the wagers but instead we chose to follow our payout limits.

"It’s important to make this clear that we are going ahead and respecting our terms with our regular customers as usual, but do intend to discourage behaviors mentioned previously."

Jazz Sports amassed a significant player base from the Western Pennsylvania area after purchasing ABC Islands, which was originally founded by a large Pittsburgh area bookmaker.  It would later acquire Loose Lines Sports, which at the time was based in Belize.

Jazz is also involved in the Pay Per Head sector.  Numbers obtained by Gambling911 last year suggest that arm of their business remains quite profitable.

Jazz previously operated land-based casinos in Costa Rica.
