The Gambling911.com 2022 Week 3 College Football Betting Action Report
Gambling911.com has all the betting action for today's games, Saturday September 17, 2022.
Most Heavily Bet On Games With Bettors
Oklahoma vs. Nebraska - The Sooners were seeing around 70% of the tickets and better than half the betting volume.
Sagarin Week 3 power ratings had Oklahoma at 86.46 (down from 89.79) and Nebraska 71.87 (down from 73.80). With home field advantage factored in (2.43), we get an early number of Oklahoma 12.16.
This one is difficult to bet in that Scott Frost has been fired as head coach and we simply do not know how the team will react and have no grasp of the new coaching dynamic just yet.
What we do know is that the Frost firing moved the line from +14 to +11. What had been a 2-point overlay is now a 1-point underlay.
Thus far, our two leans for Week 3 in College Football and Week 2 in the NFL have come through (FSU Seminoles and LA Chargers). The LA-KC game we had a one-point underlay. The FSU-Louisville game we had a 2.5 to 3.5 point overlay.
71% to 75% of the early action was coming in on the Seminoles. And while 65% of the early betting action was coming in on Kansas City, this had balanced out at most books by game time.
California vs. Notre Dame - 74% of the cash was on Cal while 79% of tickets were on Notre Dame.
This one opened at -12.5 favoring Notre Dame, dipped down to -9 earlier in the week, then was closing back around -12.5. That 12.5 is on the money so we have a line that opens and closes on the money but with an underlay at one point as much as 4 points. The dog covered in four of five games in last week's College Football and NFL combined where the line was accurate based on the Sagarin formula, but still a difficult game in which to place a wager on.
MSU vs. Washington - 79% of cash was on Washington and 65% of tickets were on MSU early. This game was set to go off at 7:30 pm ET.
Texas San Antonio vs. Texas - 76% of cash was on Texas San Antonio and 60% of the tickets were on the Longhorns.
Fresno State vs. USC - 62% of the cash was on Fresno State and 76% of the tickets were on USC.
Lopsided Action
Rutgers vs. Temple had the Scarlett Knights seeing around 85% of the bets as a -18 favorite.
Western Kentucky as a +7 dog versus Indiana was getting around 65% of the public backing on the spread.
Georgia was seeing around 75% of the action as a -25 favorite versus South Carolina.
Old Dominion as a +11 dog versus Virginia had around 80% of the cash and 60% of the tickets.
UCLA was seeing around 70% of the bets coming in on the -13.5 spread vs. South Alabama.
Mississippi as the -17 point favorite had 80% of the public love in their game against Georgia Tech.
BYU was seeing better than 60% of the spread action as a +3.5 dog versus Oregon.
LSU had around 60% of the action coming their way in a match against Mississippi State. The Tigers were a +2 dog in this one.
