Bookie Blood Bath as Pats Crush Bengals: Spread, Money Line Bets Brutal
  • Perhaps the worst loss for bookies with a single game this NFL season
  • 76 percent of bets on the Pats for this game
  • Brady finished 29 for 35 for 376 yards ensuring the Bengals do not cover
  • Pats money line (outright) win also adds salt to wounds

Based on the Bookies reaction to the action on this game and their willingness to push money the Bengals way, Gambling911.com had given Cincinnati an 80 percent chance of covering in their game at Foxboro Sunday.  That was not to happen.

“It was brutal to the core,” Gambling911.com’s own Don Shapiro noted.  “One of the worst losses for the books on an NFL game this season.”

That’s because the books were seeing around 76 percent of the action on New England throughout the week yet they refused to move the line upwards.

Tom Brady had a huge day for his homecoming after dealing with a four-game suspension to start the season.

Brady finished 29 for 35 for 376 yards. Tight end Rob Gronkowski had seven receptions for a career-high 162 yards and a touchdown.

Cincinnati, meanwhile, goes 2-4 outright for the first time since 2010, when it finished 4-12.  They were also 2-4 Against The Spread after finishing last season tied for the best regular season ATS record with the Minnesota Vikings.

Bookies also got slaughtered on the money line with New England’s outright win.  The Pats money line was the third most wagered on for Week 6.

Watch next week for the books to exploit certain games in an effort to regroup.

It wasn’t an entirely bad day as public favorites Pittsburgh and Philadelphia did fail to cover.
