Bookies celebrated a series of Week 8 College Football upsets that helped boost profits as the betting public tended to back the more high profile favorites.

Ole Miss pulled off one of the week’s biggest upsets, beating LSU outright as a +10 underdog.  The Tigers now have two losses on the season.  The Rebels record coming into Week 9 is 4-3 following their three point home victory.

The Rebels K Andrew Ritter's second field goal of the game sailed through the uprights to break a 24-24 draw with 2 seconds remaining.

An impressive UCF team managed to upset Louisville Friday night, handing the Cardinals their first loss of the season.  UCF only has one loss itself entering Week 9.  This, too, was a final minute score changer with Blake Bortles throwing a 2-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Godfrey with 23 seconds remaining, and the Knights stunned the Cardinals with a 38-35 victory.  UCF was a 14-point underdog.

And expect Auburn’s profile to improve this week following their stunning victory over 13-point favorite Texas A&M.

Elsewhere, Tennessee beat number 11 ranked South Carolina while Vanderbilt upset Georgia as a 7-point underdog.  Minnesota upset Northwestern as a +13 dog.
