Bitcoin ATM Founder Sonny Meraban Indicted Following Raid Captured on Video by Gambling911

Bitcoin ATM founder, Sonny Meraban, 45, was taken into custody and faces nearly five dozen charges for various counts.

The arrest of Meraban was captured by a Gambling911.com news crew as it was transpiring Wednesday morning shortly after 7 am but details were not immediately known. Gambling911 was immediately made aware of the occupant of the home being raided.

Meraban is listed as the CEO of Bitcoin America, a virtual currency exchange registered as a money services business with the United States Department of Treasury.

NBC News broke the story wide open Thursday morning that Meraban is facing nearly five dozen charges for various counts that range from conspiracy to money laundering to receiving stolen property and over 30 counts of license requirement violations on a warrant out of Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

The Cuyahoga County prosecutor announced Thursday afternoon the results of an operation resulting in indictments of people owning and operating cryptocurrency kiosks in Ohio.

In addition to Meraban, charges were filed against S and P Solutions, Reza Mehraban, 75, and William Suriano, 69, including engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, conspiracy, and license requirement violation for running the kiosks between August of 2002 and last month.

Cryptocurrency kiosks refers to cryptocurrency ATMs, like Bitcoin ATMs.
