Price Per Head Football Betting - How Will "Bullygate" Affect Dolphins Tonight

The NFL drama WagerHome.com PPH customers, and just about everybody else, seem to be talking about is the one that is taking place in Miami, which has changed a lot and will no doubt continue to carry reverberations for the rest of the season, and could severely impact the Dolphins' ability to put together covering efforts against the NFL football odds.

Did Richie Incognito (indefinitely suspended by the Dolphins) actually "bully" his teammate, Jonathan Martin, or was that just a little rough razzing? It's not a mystery; it's really just a matter of opinion. Is it a serious problem that the NFL has to step in and deal with, or much ado about nothing?

Opinions come in from all over, including those who engage in pro football betting through the sportsbook software at WagerHome.com, but the ones that might carry the most weight in this instance could be those that come from the Dolphin players, and in a secondary sense, players from around the league, past and present.

The vast majority of Dolphin players who have not chosen to avoid a direct answer about the issue are backing Incognito. Ryan Tannehill, who as a quarterback is, by definition, a team leader, has said that "If you'd asked Jonathan Martin who his best friend on the team was, he'd say Richie Incognito." He is absolutely not alone.

It is more or less the consensus among these Miami players that Incognito was generally the guy who brought Martin under his wing and took it upon himself to show him the ropes; who stood up for him in on-field skirmishes, and who, along the way, may have played a prank or two on him.

There is an "old school" aspect to the culture surrounding an NFL team, and the general opinion is that Martin violated that culture. Incognito's intensity is what appears to be preferred among most NFL types, while Martin's apparent passivity is frowned upon. Typifying this is Bill Parcells, who was on hand as a vice-president of football operations when Incognito arrived.

About Incognito's attitude, Parcells says, "He was a model citizen for the year that I was there with him," adding that "The players have their own justice system. And it works. They don’t write the rules and regulations down, but everybody knows what they are. Some things you don’t do.” According to published reports, he also wonders whether Martin really wanted to play football.

For Incognito's part, he told Fox's Jay Glazer that "You can ask anybody in the Miami Dolphins locker room who had Jon Martin’s back the absolute most. And they will undoubtedly tell you, me," adding that " I think, honestly, I think I’d give him a big hug right now because we’ve been through so much and I’d just be like, 'Dude, what’s going on? Why didn’t you come to me?' If he were to say, 'Listen, you took it way too far. You hurt me.' ... You know, I would just apologize and explain to him exactly what I explained to you, and I’d apologize to his family. They took it as malicious. I never meant it that way."

As far as the actual football betting part of this is concerned, there are a lot of ramifications. That there are distractions is a given. Maybe it's a rallying point for this team; maybe it's a point of division. But there is indeed an ongoing NFL investigation and heads could roll, including those of coach Joe Philbin, who reportedly approved of the "hazing" of Martin, and general manager Jeff Ireland, who allegedly suggested that Martin punch Incognito out if he objected to what was happening.

Fundamentally speaking, as the Dolphins are a two-point favorite at WagerHome.com on Monday night against the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers  (who've had their own issues), Price Per Head bettors must consider the fact that this team is now missing two starting offensive linemen, which means players who were previously benched for poor play, like Tyson Clabo, are starting, and depth is minimal. Also consider, for NFL betting purposes, that this team has allowed Tannehill to be sacked 35 times, and then draw you own conclusion as to what "real money" effect "Bullygate" is going to have in this one particular game.
