A Florida woman is suing the State of Florida for $500,000 after she claims she won the lottery but the state refuses to pay her.

Joe and Annemarie Curcio of Ocala thought they won money on Mother's Day three years ago when they matched two numbers on a $20 "Gold Rush" scratch-off ticket.  They then drove to Tallahassee, the state capital, and received some unwelcome news.

"They told us, 'no, it's not a winner, so sorry.' And my husband said, 'what are you going to do about it?' And they said, 'nothing, there's nothing we're going to do about it,'" said Annemarie Curcio.

Lottery officials claim there was a misprint and, on Wednesday, Annemarie Curcio filed a lawsuit claiming, among other things, breach of contract.  Her husband passed away last month.

The case is being handled by noted gambling attorney Lawrence Walters.
