For a number of years now, online gambling establishments have offered odds on the length of the US President's State of the Union address and, in some cases, how many standing ovations he will receive.

Enter PaddyPower.com and what is being billed as the very first Easter Sunday Pope's Urbi et Orbi odds offering.

Paddy is  offering punters the chance to place bets on the length of the Popes Urbi et Orbi this Easter Sunday. The annual papal and Apostolic blessing which takes place from St. Peter's Basilica in Rome will be broadcast live on RTE television at 11am on Sunday.

According to Paddy Power's odds, a reasonably brief address, somewhere between 22 and 23 minutes, is predicted and has been installed as the bookies 5/2 favourite.

Paddy Power is also offering odds on what the Pope says first.

Paddy Power said "Listening to an octogenarian deliver a speech in ! Latin with a German accent might not be everyone's idea of a fun Sunday morning so we hope this initiative will encourage more people to tune in and pay close attention to what El Papa has to say this year".
