CAP Online Gambling Affiliate Group Accused of Hacking

The never ending saga of Casino Affiliate Programs (CAP) is just that - NEVER ENDING - and just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it just did.

A quick reCAP (no pun intended):  Gambling911.com first reported early this month that CAP was found to have an interest in a "rogue" online poker room, one that had not paid affiliate partners for well over a month.  That interest, as revealed by the GPWA (another online gambling affiliate business), turned out to be a partnership.  Industry luminaries were banned from partaking in CAP events and contributing on their posting forum.

By Sunday, the revelations grew all the more intense, with CAP co-founder Lou Fabiono announcing his "resignation".

Then came the alleged hacking incident.

An individual from the popular Poker Affiliates Listing website has accused both Fabiono and fellow CAP co-founder, Warren Jolly, of "hacking into his account".  The individual in question, Jeremy, also displayed documentation to back up his claims.

I am actually quite shocked as I type this right now. Most of you know I am not a big fan of all the industry drama. I have purposely stayed out of all the gossip, rumors, and even facts about anything and everything to do with CAP, AMI, and PAP. Even when my account at PAP was hacked and AMI executives posted on it pretending to be me, I kept my cool.

But what just transpired really pisses me off, and I feel I should share with the group. While I was not even at my computer I get the following email on my blackberry.

Of course after I see this I immediately went to PAL to do a little investigating. What I found made my jaw drop. I logged into the admincp and ran a query on the I.P. address 64.58.138.146 where the attempted login to my account came from. This was the result.

The Jarwl account is the account that Warren and Lou from Affiliate Media (CAP,PAP) had been using to read PAL since its inception while the forums were private. I knew this account was theirs the whole time, but allowed them to use it anyways up until about a week ago. Even when private, I had nothing to hide from them. In fact they are welcome members here at PAL if they would like to be.

But what I don't understand is why would they attempt to login to my account (Jeremy) here at PAL? Say what you want about "a staff member thought it would be funny" like Warren did when they jacked my PAP account. Fine, they own PAP. But trying to login to my PAL account here 5+ times with what I assume are my old passwords from PAP stuff when I worked there...........this is shady, and nothing short of an illegal hacking attempt.

Needless-to-say, most members of that posting forum had their respective jaws drop.

One member commented: "That's a pretty douche move. Are they really that dumb to try and hack an account from a computer that they use on a regular basis... amateurs."

CAP is holding a party event in London for its online gambling affiliates.  Sponsors and affiliates alike are watching developments with concern as they develop.  Already, Fabiono, while stating he will be flying to London, has not confirmed he will be in attendance at the event.

Warren Jolly typically spends about an hour total at these events.  He opts instead to party with a "chosen" group of affiliates while Lou is left doing all the work.

This should get very interesting indeed.
