You Don’t Want to be a Bookie in North Carolina Right Now

South Carolina, maybe.  Your Gamecocks haven’t been faring well and as such the bookies are not in so much pain.

Even there with the Gamecocks going 3-7 overall, bookies are just breaking even Against The Spread.

They also have to deal with a Clemson team that is 10-0 Straight Up but, lucky for them, 5-5 ATS.

In North Carolina the bookies are dealing with a North Carolina Tar Heels Football team that has only one loss on the season and is 7-3 ATS and a North Carolina State team that has gone 6-4 Against The Spread.

Wake Forest and Duke at least were just breaking even on the spread.

What is crippling the local bookies the most in this region is a Carolina Panthers team that has defied expectations.  Nobody saw this one coming for a team that crept into the Playoffs with a losing record last season.

10-0, undefeated.  They are the last of two teams without a loss on the season after Cincinnati fell short Monday night to Houston.  New England is the other undefeated team.

Carolina isn’t just winning, they are covering.  The Panthers will enter Week 11 with a 7-2 record Against The Spread.

Surely the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets could help bring some glimmer of hope to the local bookie, right?

Guess again, even they are 6-3-1 Against The Spread to start the season (5-5 Straight Up) at press time.

Local bookies throughout the Carolina’s have been turning to offshore Pay Per Heads that offer live wagering and online casinos to help offset losses.

As one bookie in Darlington, South Carolina (just over the NC border) told Gambling911.com Monday: “I’m having my ass handed to me this football season”.
