Odds on Wayne Rooney moving to Everton had been slashed to 1/120 Wednesday just prior to Ladbrokes ultimately pulling the plug.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Everton fans must be wondering what the club are putting in their breakfast this summer. Having spent over €70m already, the Toffees are now set to bring home arguably their most famous son.”
"I've played for two Premier League clubs and they're the only two Premier League clubs I'll play for," said Rooney, leading many of the UK bookmakers offering just two choices for punters.
Everton’s odds of winning a championship in 2018 were set at 66-1.
