The Virginia Tech vs. North Carolina State point spread was listed at Hokies -3 ½ across the board including at BetUS.com.  More than 80 percent of the betting action was coming in on North Carolina State.

North Carolina State is off to their best start since 2002.  This week they come into their game against Virginia Tech 23rd-ranked and in the Top 25 for the first time since '03.  They are one of the surprise teams of this College Football season.

"Don't drink the Kool-Aid," the offensive lineman R.J. Mattes warned his fellow teammates on Monday. "Everybody's going to be coming over to you saying, 'Hey, y'all are great, y'all are good.' ... We're not a bad team, but we're not as good as people are telling us we are."

Virginia Tech comes into this one with a 2-2 record, but be forewarned, the oddsmakers still have them among the top 10 teams most likely to win a BCS championship in 2011 in terms of the odds currently being offered to do so.

With the Virginia Tech vs. North Carolina State point spread opening at -3 ½ and staying steady all week, one has to wonder why the oddsmakers are so heavily opinionated on the Hokies being that 80 percent or more of the public money is going towards North Carolina State.

Virginia Tech clobbered North Carolina State last season.

In terms of trends, the Hokies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win.

The Wolfpack are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a home underdog and 7-2-2 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. win.
