When it comes to Super Bowl 44 betting it is good to know that the favorite (the team supposedly having the edge) has won all but two of the last eleven past Super Bowl games. This doesn't mean they necessarily cover. It actually would make some sense betting the -200 moneyline at BetUS.com. "If Mathis can beat the Saints protection line then he can make some turnovers that will definitely help the Colts in the game. Don't forget about Gary Brackett or Antoine Bethea, both are playmakers that need to step up if Freeney can make it on Sunday.
"Another strong point about Indy is the experience, something that you can't buy in the market. Many of them have been here before and they also know how to win the Super Bowl, which is a big plus."
Super Bowl 44 betting has been influenced by the prospect that Colt's player Dwight Freeney may not play or - at the very least - won't be at 100 percent.
Simmons writes of the Freeney situation:
"The lost of Freeney on defense make the Colts weaker in every aspect of the game. If you think about it, with Freeney out Robert Mathis will get the double coverage and the pass rushing will not be the same at all.
"That will give Drew Brees more time to find open receivers and make the Indianapolis Colts pay against one of the best passing teams in the NFL."
