Seahawks-Giants Line

After opening at -11.5, the Seahawks-Giants line has since settled in at -9.5 and that is probably where the line will close.  75 percent of those betting the spread for this game were backing New York.

There are some solid reasons for betting the Giants in this one.

New York has decimated Seattle in their last two head-to-head matchups both last year and in 2008.

The Seahawks have been a terrible team on the road, especially when heading to the East Coast.  They are 16-38-1 Against The Spread in their last 55 road games.

“With the 27th-ranked passing attack, and 31st-ranked rushing offense, the Seahawks’ offense is in a tough place this year under head coach Pete Carroll,” notes Tony Bryant of BetOnline.com.  “Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell brought in quarterback Tarvaris Jackson from the Minnesota Vikings in the offseason, and the move has been a major flop so far even with the Seahawks finally passing for more than 200 yards for the first time against Atlanta this past Sunday.”

Bryant added that the expectations for the New York Giants were rather low at the get-go due to injuries, but they appear to have overcome this obstacle.  They have three straight wins to support this notion.

“Even despite the injuries, the Giants still have more talent than Seattle, and what makes the outlook for this game even more one-sided is that on top of skill they actually want it more as well.”
