Oregon vs. California Spread

With the Oregon vs. California spread set at Ducks -19.5 on Wednesday, it’s amazing that the Ducks are getting such strong backing from the betting public, especially as an away favorite.  95 percent of the action was on the Oregon spread in this game, making the Ducks the most wagered on team in College Football this week.  The total was set at 58 and getting 95 percent of the betting action.

There is reason to bet on California in this game, at least Against The Spread. The Golden Bears are undefeated at home this season, winning by at least 28 points in each game. They are also 12-3 Against The Spread at home over the past three sesons.  And coach Jeff Tedford has never lost to the Ducks in Berkeley. However, Cal is 0-10 against top-ranked teams.

The Ducks failed to score in the first quarter last weekend. Oregon led by a mere nine points late in the third quarter before pulling off a pretty solid victory: 53-16.

A slow start, however, will not be good enough to get past Southern California.

We have to eliminate the mistakes," running back Kenjon Barner said. "We just have to come out and play Oregon football and not make petty and minor mistakes."

Below you will find numerous Oregon vs. California trending data to use for betting purposes. The home team has won 6 of 7 in this series.  (edge:  California)

Oregon has only won by more than the current spread in one of the last seven games, however, that was last season.

California has covered three of the last four in this series.  The exception was last season.

The Ducks are 6-2-1 Against The Spread in their last 9 games as a favorite.  The Golden Bears are just 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games as a home underdog.  (edge:  Oregon)

Gambling911.com notes that the OVER 58 is certainly something to take into consideration when betting on this game as there are strong trends favoring the OVER and Oregon.

As a favorite of 10.5 to 21 points, the OVER is 7-1 ATS in the last three seasons.  Against conference opponents they are 17-6 ATS on the OVER and 5-1 ATS this season.  The OVER is also 7-1 this season when Oregon is a favorite and 21-6 during the past three seasons.
