Oklahoma Sooners

The Oklahoma Sooners had odds of winning the 2012 BCS Championship of 4/1, second shortest odds after the Crimson Tide.  They were favored at -135 to win OVER 10 regular season games.

The schedule is far from easy, however, with six of the teams Oklahoma will play being listed by BetDSI.com with odds to win the 2012 BCS Championship.

2010 Schedule

Sep. 3 Tulsa
Sep. 10 OPEN DATE
Sep. 17 at Florida State 10/1 odds to win the BCS Championship
Sep. 24 Missouri 75/1 odds
Oct. 1 Ball State
Oct. 8 Texas (in Dallas) 20/1 odds
Oct. 15 at Kansas
Oct. 22 Texas Tech
Oct. 29 at Kansas State 100/1 odds
Nov. 5 Texas A&M 50/1 odds
Nov. 12 Iowa State
Nov. 19 at Baylor
Nov. 26 at Oklahoma St 25/1 odds to win the BCS Championship

Probably the toughest game will be against Florida State on the road while the last game of the season vs. Oklahoma State will also be difficult.  A game in Dallas against Texas will be no picnic either.  This makes the OVER/UNDER a tough bet with little value.  Conceivably, the Sooners could lose three games but the more likely scenario would be a loss of two games, resulting in 10 wins.

Sure this is a team that can win 11 or even go undefeated, but on paper that’s not the greatest bet.

Likewise, we can see Oklahoma playing in the BCS Championship game, but the 4/1 odds are a little short for our tastes.

Notice that the only possible losses we have are outside of Oklahoma.  OU’s last loss inside the state came against TCU in the opener of the 2005 season.

Futures Betting Value Index:
