Odds to Win the 2010 Super Bowl

It's always fun to look at the Odds to win the 2010 Super Bowl as they were listed heading into the regular season.  Amazingly, both the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints were listed with double digits of winning the 2010 Super Bowl.

Today, the Colts were a -5 ½ favorite to win the big game this coming weekend at SBG Global

Indianapolis entered the season as a 12/1 long shot while the New Orleans Saints were listed at odds to win the 2010 Super Bowl of 18/1.

"I suspect there are those who bet early on one or the other team and the payout for a $100 bet will be $1200 and up," said Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

Both teams enjoyed solid previews but others were listed with shorter odds including last year's Super Bowl champs who failed to even make the Playoffs, the Pittsburgh Steelers (6/1).

Perennial favorites, the New England Patriots, came in around 3/1.

Other single digit favorites included the Philadelphia Eagles, San Diego Chargers and Minnesota Vikings.

"For the most part, the oddsmakers had it right with a number of these early favorites making it deep into the Playoffs.

They almost took a serious hit with the New York Jets making it all the way into the Conference Championships.  They would have paid out $4200 on a $100 bet with a 2010 Super Bowl win.

Xavier Worthy = Tyreek Hill 2.0?  Perhaps, and if that comes to fruition at any point in the future, the Bills only have themselves to blame.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
