Nebraska vs. Kansas State

The Nebraska vs. Kansas State spread opened early Monday with the Cornhuskers a -12 road favorite in this Thursday night game.  The line remained at -12 at BetUS.com heading into Tuesday.

“Looking at this game you would think that Kansas State wasn’t a very good team,” says Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  “Both these teams are at 4-0 right now.”

Nebraska has owned this series over the last five head-to-heads however and the Cornhuskers are ranked number 6.

ESPN.com points out that Nebraska is unbeaten largely because of their quarterback Taylor Martinez averaging 124 rushing yards -- 11th most in the country – in addition to scoring eight touchdowns on the ground. Nebraska is also allowing a mere 12.8 points a contest while giving up just 126.3 passing yards per game. 

The Cornhuskers are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games as a road favorite of 10.5 or greater and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.  They are, however, 3-7 ATS in their last 11 games as a favorite.  And even worse, the Cornhuskers are Cornhuskers are 0-6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite of 10.5 or greater.

Nebraska is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game.

The Wildcats are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 conference games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Kansas State is also 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.

They are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
