Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams Odds

Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams odds had the Packers at -6 ½ on the road facing St. Louis at Hollywood Sportsbook.  The line initially opened at -7 and, while there are a few holdouts at that number, most online sportsbooks have moved the line down to -6 ½.  Over 95 percent of the betting action on this game is going Green Bay's way.

The ESPN.com Intel report clearly explains the concerns for the Packers:

"The Packers cannot protect Aaron Rodgers who has been sacked an alarming 10 times this year. Fortunately for him the Rams only have 1 sack in 2 games and Rodgers only has a 33 percent chance of getting sacked more than twice. The Packers run defense had a good Week 1, but a poor Week 2."

They will also be without OT Chad Clifton.

Green Bay beat the St. Louis Rams the last time they met by a score of 33-14 in St. Louis.  It is interesting to note that the line was almost identical to that of today's line.  The year prior, Green Bay was not very good and St. Louis won as a -2 ½ favorite in Green Bay. The Rams and Packers have split their last eight meetings.

Some important Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams odds trends:

The Packers are 14-5-1 ATS in their last 20 road games.

The Packers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite.

The Rams are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.

The Rams are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 vs. NFC.

The Rams are 6-15 ATS in their last 21 home games.

The Rams are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games following a S.U. loss.

Last week, St. Louis had a chance for a late comeback, but was unable to pull it off, losing 9-7 in Washington. ... The Packers' late rally against the Bengals fell short in a 31-24 loss.

Are there any redeeming qualities to be found with the Rams?

Steven Jackson is one. Jackson is the Rams' best offensive player and his ability to create big plays will be key for St. Louis. He rushed for 104 yards last week against the Redskins.

We must admit, The Packers are looking a little shaky coming into this one on the road having lost to a questionable Bengals team in the hostile territory of Green Bay.  It doesn't help that they have one of the worst kickers in the league right now, Mason Crosby.  He only made 5 of 10 field goals in the pre-season and things haven't exactly gotten better for him during the regular season.
