The Tennessee Volunteers host the Florida Gators this afternoon on CBS at 3:30 EDT. The Volunteers are trying to get back to their former perch, at the top of the SEC conference. For them to make some headway, they will have to get by the rebuilding Gators. Florida might be undefeated, but they certainly aren't perfect. This year is as good as any for the Volunteers to pull the upset. Florida is a 13.5 road favorite this afternoon, with a total of 45.5 points expected.

Tennessee is trying to build a new foundation, as they look to become relevent in the SEC. Unfortunately they are off to only a 1-1 start both SU and ATS this year. Tennessee lost badly to Oregon at home in their last game, losing 13-48 SU as 10.5 underdogs. The Volunteers were only outgained by 114 yards against Oregon, as they were in the game until halftime. Now they have to bounce back quickly, against one of their fiercest rivals. Last year, Tennessee hung with Florida early, before falling 13-23 SU as 30 point underdogs. The Volunteers will again look to play sound defense to keep their team in the game. Offensively, the Volunteers will need to continue to become more diverse and less predictable. Tennessee is 7-3 ATS in their past 10 games played on grass.

The Volunteers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 conference games. The Under is 10-2 in their last 12 games following a ATS loss.

Florida is 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS as they enter their road game against conference rival Tennessee. The Gators haven't played their best football to start the season, but they still enter this contest ranked 10th in the nation. Florida has scored 34 and 38 PTS in their games this year, but it seems like they've struggled far more than that. Nobody can forget their opening game, where they quite simply couldn't handle the center to QB snap. Florida has won their past 5 games SU against Tennessee, so they feel quite confident heading into this game. After having 8 fumbles in their season opener, the Gators only had 2 fumbles last week. For the Gators to win and ultimately cover this point spread on the road in league contest, they will have to play mistake free. Points are hard to come by in league play for the Gators and their opposition, as they've played to the under in 8 of their past 10 contests.

The Gators are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 road games. The Under is 6-2 in their last 8 games following a SU win of more than 20 points.

Pregame.com projects the final score to be 23-17 in favor of the Florida Gators. The Tennessee Volunteers +13.5 is the Side of the Day!
