Betting on the Alabama-LSU Game

For those of you betting on the Alabama-LSU game, you could do so at BetOnline.com where the line on the BCS Championship Game was -2.5.   Note that the below preview is from a previous meeting between these two teams.  If you wish to start betting now go here.

The LSU Tigers might be the top-ranked team in college football, but the fastest growing sportsbook in the US, BetOnline, thinks #2 Alabama Crimson Tide is the better team – four points better to be exact.

It’s not every week that BetOnline opens up the line on a game two weeks before it is scheduled to be played. However, it’s not every year that the top two teams meet up during the regular season.

Even though the game isn’t until Saturday, November 5th, BetOnline was quick to release the betting lines this past Sunday – 13 days before kick-off. Their odds-makers originally made LSU a 6.5-point underdog; however, the line was quickly moved to four points thanks to one-sided Tiger betting.

“Often when we open lines earlier than usual, we’ll get some action, but for the most part our players will just wait until the week of the game,” stated BetOnline’s Dave Mason. “This week has been an exception and we are seeing unprecedented betting patterns. If the numbers keep going in this fashion, we’ll take more bets on this game than last year’s BCS Championship game between Auburn and Oregon.”

The early LSU-Alabama action has been so heavy that as of Wednesday, there is more money on this game than all but three of THIS week’s college games. Even more impressive, there is currently more money on the LSU-Alabama game at BetOnline than all of the NFL Week 8 games on the betting board except the Patriots-Steelers.

And the action will only increase as the game approaches…(this means betting on Alabama vs. LSU should happen as soon as possible – like right now)

“We were the first to open this line this past Sunday; however, we opened them at only $500 limits. We’ve already increased the limits to $5,000 and will increase again to $15,000 next week,” Mason explained. “Additionally, on Tuesday afternoon we were the first to open the over-under. Despite both teams bone-crunching defenses, our data suggests that 42.5 points is the accurate ‘total’.”

BetOnline and their players aren’t the only ones recognizing the magnitude of this game. CBS moved the game from its originally scheduled mid-afternoon slot to primetime.

Not only are both teams a flawless 8-0 this season, but they have both been money making machines for their loyal bettors this season. LSU has covered six out of their eight games, while the Tide are an almost perfect 7-1 against the spread.

“This game is circled on every college football bettor’s calendar, so we’ll have not only the earliest lines, but the most odds as well; including our industry-best Live betting lines. Even after the opening kick-off you’ll be able to bet the point spread, money line and total; while the game unfolds before your eyes.”

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
