This BCS National Championship preview is courtesy of SBG Global.  Odds opened at Alabama -4 ½ and have been all over the place since with around 80 percent of the action going the Crimson Tide's way.  The line on this game has now settled in at -3 ½ at SBG Global.  This promises to be one of the most bet on games of the year.

Texas vs. Alabama
Thursday, 8:30 pm Eastern - ABC

The best possible matchup for the college football betting BCS National Championship is on tap for Thursday night as #1 Alabama faces #2 Texas.  While Boise State and TCU may have felt slighted, there is no question that the Crimson Tide and the Longhorns are the two best teams in the country. Alabama features Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and the country's best defense while Texas has Colt McCoy and a lot of experience.

Texas will be looking to win their second BCS title in the last five years. They have fond memories of the Rose Bowl as they won the title in 2005 on that field as they upset USC 41-38. Texas is an underdog again this time against an Alabama team that looked very impressive in the SEC title game as they routed Florida.  Texas will have to find a way to slow down Ingram who rushed for a school-record 1,542 yards and 15 touchdowns.  He may find the going tough against a Texas defense that was ranked first in all of college football against the run.

Texas will look to be more balanced with a mixture of runs and throws but it will usually be McCoy doing both.  He threw for 3,512 yards and 27 touchdowns this season and he was the team's second leading rusher with

348 yards.  His top receiving target is Jordan Shipley who had 106 catches for 1,363 yards and 11 TDs.

Both Alabama and Texas have a lot of talent on defense. The Crimson Tide have Butkus Award winner Rolando McClain and a solid secondary led by Javier Arenas and Mark Barron.  Texas had excellent defensive numbers as well so they will look to contain Ingram and put pressure on quarterback Greg McElroy. Texas had the most interceptions in all of college football with 24 and Earl Thomas led the team with eight of them.

BCS National Championship odds trends for Thursday's game. The Longhorns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games as an underdog. The Longhorns are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 bowl games. The Longhorns are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. The Crimson Tide are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. the Big 12 Conference.

New York Jets Betting Trends: Zach Wilson Benched

BetOnline was offering odds on whether Zack Wilson becomes the next quarterback benched.  They had Wilson as a pretty big favorite.  Mike White will now assume the QB responsibilities, at least for this game. The Jets host Chicago, a team that is second worst in the league right now according to the Sagarin Ratings.  Our number is New York 6.77.
