Royal Wedding: No Bets on Two Kisses on the Lips

We suppose there were those books (especially based in the UK) offering odds on whether Will & Kate would kiss on the lips, but none were offering odds on whether there would be a double feature at the much anticipated Royal Wedding Friday morning.

“It was probably the most anticipated moment of the wedding aside from seeing Kate in her dress and the ultimate ‘I Do’s’,” noted our Royal Wedding betting correspondent, Jenny Woo.  “And it was absolutely fabulous.”

After a sloppy first kiss, the crowd shouted out for a retake and the Prince did not disappoint the second time around.

“And he looked like he just stepped out of the film ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’,” noted a gushing Woo.  “She was absolutely beyond stunning in her ivory dress.”

Yes, ivory!

Not BLACK, as Ms. Woo had predicted in her video coverage leading up to the event (see here).

The oddsmakers got two of the other big bets correct:  One, the wedding dress, one of the best kept secrets in Great Britain’s history, did turn out to be ivory.  That color paid near even odds but was the favorite.

Likewise, yellow was the favorite for the Queen’s hat.  That bet paid out $15 for every $10 bet.

We still await a few more of the other popular bet outcomes for “First Dance Song” and where Will & Kate will honeymoon.
