The odds to win Best Director at the 2014 Oscars at Alfonso Cuaron a huge -3000 favorite (and pretty much unbeatable) for “Gravity”.   All Oscar odds were available at WagerWeb.com here.

This is a bit of a stretch when one considers “Gravity” itself is nowhere near the favorite to win for Best Picture.  That film has +325 odds of winning for a payout potential of $32.50 on every $10 bet.  “12 Years a Slave” was the 1/6 favorite to win for Best Picture.

Steve McQueen, who directed “12 Years a Slave” would pay out $55 for every $10 bet should he win in this category.

Other odds to win for Best Director at this year’s Oscars included Alexander Payne for “Nebraska” at 80/1, David O’Russell for “American Hustle” at 18/1 and Martin Scorsese for “The Wolf of Wall Street” at 35/1.
