In this category, “Argo” and “Lincoln” had much tighter odds than for Best Picture where “Argo” was the -650 favorite.

For Best Adapted Screenplay, “Argo” was coming in with odds of -160, which required a $16 bet to win $10 (with the $16 bet refunded should the film win).  “Lincoln”, on the other hand, would pay out $15.50 for every $10 wagered and presented much better value.

“Argo” is a dramatization of and is based on a 2007 article about the "Canadian Caper" in which Tony Mendez, a CIA operative, led the rescue of six U.S. diplomats from Tehran, Iran, during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis.

"Lincoln" is the Stephen Spielberg directed film that covers the final four months of President Lincoln's life.
