While online gambling sites like WagerWeb.com will be offering betting on just about every 2012 Oscars category, you won’t find odds in Las Vegas.
It appeared last year that Vegas was about to begin allowing wagering on what is the single most bet on nonsporting event after the US Presidential elections.
In January 2011, officials announced rule changes that would allow casinos to take bets on non-sporting events under specified conditions.
To date, that hasn’t exactly happened.
The Vegas sportsbooks are yet to offer odds on any type of betting event including beauty pageants, reality shows, financials or political outcomes.
The only novelty bet offered by the Las Vegas bookmakers since last year’s decision was rendered: Who Will Win The World Series of Poker Main Event.
The good news is you can still bet the Oscars online.
