It’s that time of year and the 2013 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest betting odds are now available online at BetOnline here.
For anyone thinking they can get rich overnight with a Joey Chestnut bet, you’ll be sadly mistaken.
Chestnut requires a $100 wager just to win $1. Ouch!!!! And since the maximum on these types of bets tend to be just $100, well….
Wagering on Chestnut not to win pays $60 on a $10 bet.
The bet you want to place is on the OVER/UNDER number of hot dogs eaten by the winner.
63.5 is the magic number and both the OVER/UNDER would pay slightly less than even odds.
Last year, Chestnut won his sixth consecutive title by consuming a record-tying 68 hot dogs and buns (HDBs) in ten minutes.
The eating kicks off at 12:30 pm EDT. Ratings on ESPN have doubled to two million in the last decade with the live broadcast each 4th of July.
