Crown Coins Rolls Out New 'SC Tickets' System for Indiana Players Following Sweepstakes Ban
  • Indiana new sweepstakes casino ban now in effect

  • Crown Coins has opted to continue accepting customers from Indiana by getting rid of its dual currency system.

While most sweepstakes casinos have opted to exit the state of Indiana following a new ban going into effect, at least one site will be staying put.

Crown Coins has seemingly redesigned its currency system there, eliminating its dual currency structure.  Sweeps Coins have been replaced with SC Tickets. These SC Tickets are the only way to play in Indiana now, with any winnings going straight to a Cash Balance, making the platform now feel more like a real money casino.

Unlike a real money online casino, sweepstakes - or social casinos - is an online platform that allows users to play casino-style games, including slots, bingo, table games, and even live casino games, using virtual currency instead of real money.   These types of online casinos rely on additional real money purchases once the free play component is exhausted.  In contrast, real money online casinos require a small deposit that can be increased through wins.  Free play and cash bonuses are typically offered as well.

HB 1052 gave The Indiana Gaming Commission authority to impose civil penalties of up to $100,000 per violation against any operator or individual who knowingly offers sweepstakes games to Indiana residents.

The sweepstakes casino industry currently generates $20 million in annual revenue.
