The Connor Hellebuyck situation in Winnipeg is getting ugly as the Winnipeg Jets have suspended him indefinitely for failing to show up for training camp after his very public trade request.
The oddsmakers at BetOnline Sports & Casino have set odds on when he will get traded and to which team.
When last we checked, Hellebuyck was favored to go to the Colorado Avalanche. That was just over a week ago.
Colorado is now at 9-1 odds (previously at 4-1) and it is Buffalo that comes in as the odds-on favorite at 4-1 odds.
Hellebuyck has publicly requested a trade and refused to report to training camp. Trade talks are currently in a holding pattern after a near-deal collapsed.
The Sabres made a hard push for Connor Hellebuyck around the time of the 2026 NHL Draft.
Buffalo GM Jarmo Kekäläinen is keeping mostly mum on the matter.
“I’ll just say my same boring answer where anytime we have an opportunity to try to make our team better, we’re going to look at it and make phone calls and consider it and have internal meetings about it and see if it goes anywhere. If not, then we’ll continue, and if we can make a trade to make our team better, we will.”
