OAKLAND PARK, Fla (Gambling911.com) - Connor Hellebuyck heading to Las Vegas?
Gambling911.com first revealed that BetOnline had opened odds on Hellebuyck's next team back in April. At the time, the Las Vegas Golden Knights were listed as the 3-1 favorite.
Fast forward to August 27 and the Colorado Avalanche had become the odds-on favorites.
Analysts note that adding an elite workhorse like Hellebuyck could give Colorado the final piece needed to push for another Stanley Cup. The Avalanche now pay out $400 for every $100 bet should Hellebuyck land there.
Vegas? They currently pay out $1200 for every $100 bet.
Michael Augello of The Hockey News writes that Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon would need to trade Cup winner Adin Hill and others to teams they are not blocked by, to gain assets to ship to Winnipeg.
This is a longshot, since there are not many clubs looking to do Vegas many favors, so Buffalo should be able to top any offer they make, he noted.
In a statement released through his NHL agent on X/Twitter, Hellebuyck said that he believes moving on from Winnipeg is the best path forward for him and his family.
