Former New England Patriots head coach and soon to be head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels football program, 73-year-old Bill Belichick, is under intense scrutiny for his relationship with a 24-year-old Jordan Hudson.

Belichick sat down with the network to discuss and promote his new book “The Art of Winning” for an interview that aired last week. Hudson was a constant presence who would routinely interrupt.

“I agreed to speak with CBS Sunday Morning to promote my new book,” the statement begins. “Prior to this interview, I clearly communicated with my publicist at Simon & Schuster that any promotional interviews I participated in would agree to focus solely on the contents of the book.

“Unfortunately, that expectation was not honored during the interview. I was surprised when unrelated topics were introduced, and I repeatedly expressed to the reporter, Tony Dokoupil, and the producers that I preferred to keep the conversation centered on the book.”

Belichick claimed his girlfriend Hudson interrupted the interview in an effort to get it back on track.

NBA analyst and Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley has expressed concerns for his friend Belichick.

“Well, this is a very slippery subject for me, because Bill’s one of my really good friends,” Barkley said recently on the Dan Patrick Show. “I’m not sure what’s going on. You know, he’s been a great friend for me for a long time. We’ve been friends since he coached for the Browns.

“I think he’s gotta be very careful right now. This is starting to be on a very slippery slope.”
