The Cincinnati Bengals are very much in the Playoff hunt after being left for dead just a few weeks ago with Joe Burrow going down with a season ending injury.  As of December 23, the Bengals would pay out $10,000 for every $100 bet with a Super Bowl win.

December 23

The Bengals (8-6) were facing off against division rival the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-6) in a critical game for Week 16.

The last time these teams faced one another, Bengals quarterback Borrow ran off to the locker room in obvious agony gripping his wrist.  We'd come to find out Burrow would miss the remainder of the season with a torn ligament in his right wrist.

“I felt a pop in the middle of the throw. I tried to give it a go but couldn’t get it done and got the news today. I had a feeling before we got the official news (what the result would be),” said Burrow, who was 11 of 17 for 101 yards and a touchdown when he left the game.

Jake Browning would fill in the void and, quite frankly, looked lost against the Steelers.

A devastating blow and end to the Bengals season, right?

Wrong!

Cincinnati would go on to win their next three games, two against teams with winning records and another against a team at the .500 mark.

Browning returned to complete 32-of-37 passes for 354 yards and one touchdown in the Bengals’ 34-31, Week 13 overtime win over the Jaguars (8-6).  He added 22 yards and a touchdown on two carries.

The following week, Browning completed 18-of-24 passes for 275 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the Bengals’ 34-14, Week 14 win over the Colts (currently 8-6)

Last week, he completed 29-of-42 passes for 324 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Bengals’ 27-24, Week 15 win over the Vikings.

The Bengals pushed last week and covered the spread in the two games prior over the span in which Browning has started as quarterback.

"I think we continue to improve week-to-week and there are some things we need to get better at," Bengals coach Zac Taylor said. "I think the team is in the right mindset right now. We know it's going to be a tough battle going on the road -- 4:30, Pittsburgh -- always a big challenge for us, these divisional games. Pittsburgh is a really good football team. I know they've lost the last couple, but that doesn't mean that we're not in for a big-time fight. Our guys are going to be prepared for that."

Gambling911.com was going against much of the rest of the handicapping populace with its play on Cincinnati -3 in Week 16.
