OAKLAND PARK, Fla (Gambling911.com) - Today we celebrate the great Dolly Parton as a nation mourns her passing at the age of 80.
The beloved American music and film star was known for her vibrant personality and poignant songwriting. Her career spanned decades, with hits like “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You", the latter of which was made famous by Whitney Houston. Not to take anything away from Dolly's recording of the song. Her version hit number one on the Country Music Chart twice.
She was born in Tennessee and rose from humble beginnings to become a country music icon. Her ensuing partnership with Porter Wagoner helped launch her career, and she later became a successful actor and businesswoman who founded the Dollywood Amusement Park nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Parton was also a philanthropist, founding her Imagination Library to promote children’s literacy. Her charm and humor made her a beloved figure across generations and political divides.
Her family has not released details as to the cause of death other than to confirm she died peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Dolly touched every aspect of life, even the world of gambling.
