Hamdemonium Betting This Christmas Time?

It sounds like a storyline from the movie "Aporkalypse Now' as hamdemonium continues to spread across the Irish food industry. With the prospect of no little piggys going to market over the next few weeks, Paddy Power has declared it is offering some tasty specials!

Say what?

Ireland's largest online gambling site is offering betting on none other than Tesco ham Xmas sales.  Unfortunately for Tesco, 21 to 30 percent decline is a 2-1 favorite.

An increase in sales was given 10 to 1 odds.

This is certainly good news for all those pigs out there but might not reflect well on Ireland's economy, which is struggling right now.

Now guess what?  There could be some value in that "increase in sales" offering.

Irish officials confirmed Tuesday that cattle at three farms have tested positive for dioxin - the cancer-causing chemical that has contaminated its pork industry - but insisted the country's beef posed no real risk to health.

Moral to the story...eat chicken!....or better yet...eat fish this Christmas time.
