Despite initial reports surfacing late Tuesday that the court might not release the full client list of the late financier and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein until at least January 22, portions of the list were released Wednesday evening with more to come.

"The unsealing should begin today," Edward Friedland, district executive at the U.S. district court in Manhattan, told USA TODAY.

One Doe 107 did request for a 30-day extension before "her" identity is revealed.  This individual's name will not be disclosed until some time after January 20.

So who might Doe 107 be?  It appears this individual may be living in another country.

BetOnline, which offers hundreds of political and entertainment betting options, had posted odds on who would be named during the Christmas weekend holiday but has since removed the odds, likely a combined result of too many insiders having access and not wanting to wrongly implicate folks who may turn out not to have appeared on the list.

Those fears may be warranted.  On Tuesday, late night show host Jimmy Kimmel threatened to take Jets quarterback for 5 minutes, Aaron Rodgers, to court after Rodgers reportedly linked him to the infamous list.

Rodgers made the comments on the Pat McAfee Show.

“There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are really hoping [the list] doesn’t come out. … I’ll tell you what, if that list comes out, I’ll definitely will be popping some sort of bottle.”

Following Rodgers’ comments, the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! took to X (formerly Twitter), threatening to take him to court.

“Dear Aasshole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality,” Kimmel wrote. “Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court.”

By Wednesday McAfee issued an apology to Kimmel and encouraged Rodgers to clarify the matter.

Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 while in jail as he awaited trial on sex trafficking charges. He was accused of bringing several underage girls to his homes then sexually abusing them.

In recent days, with January 2 expected to be the day of the release, interest in these betting odds blew up.  By late Tuesday, Gambling911 had one of its most trafficked days in the site's nearly 25 year history.  Traffic numbers were the most since the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr fight on August 26, 2017.
