Today, Thursday July 13, 2023, is the single best day to place sports bets, according to Adam Burns of BetOnline.

He noted that most traders (oddsmakers) take this day off.  It's the MLB All Star break with games beginning again on Friday.  And there's not much more happening outside of a few obscure events like tennis and maybe golf (don't hate on us).  Burns insists that the BetOnline golf lines will still be sharp as ever.

Burns tweeted: "If you want to pick off stale lines today is your day at most sports books as is pretty much the quietest day of the year and 90% of traders have a day off."

In other words, a bunch of lackeys putting up bad lines should be the norm at most books.

Admittedly, it's hard to see Betonline having any lack-of-talent when it comes to filling in for the experts.  In fact, Adam is on the stage but he was about to head out for a beer as this was going to press.

This week, and maybe next, is the last vacation time before football really starts to take center stage.  While kickoff is still weeks away, the preparations begin right around now.

Sportsbook Consigliere suggests this doesn't need to be the only day of celebration.

"Picking off stale lines usually a Monday-Wednesday assignment or an evening thing. Enjoy your day off."
