Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics Round 1 Playoff Series Betting Preview

The Miami Heat should be a +11 Celtics in Boston and a +7 home dog throughout this series.  Boston opened Game 1 as a -14 home favorite at most of the regulated sportsbooks and the PPH books

The +14 number ensures the Heat are the biggest dog in the post season.

“I mean, it’s the underdog story, right? David vs. Goliath,” Heat forward Kevin Love said. “That’s why you’ve got to roll the ball out and play. You’ve got to understand that anything can happen in this game. Obviously, beating a team like Boston is an incredibly uphill battle. They’ve played like the best team in the league all year.”

It’s No. 1 vs. No. 8, where an upset has happened only four times in a best-of-seven series.

“I think honestly, we can just play free,” Heat guard Tyler Herro said. “Having Jimmy out and then being on the road, all the odds are against us, no one expects us to win. But I think things can change if we do get one in Boston. So, we’re going to bring everything we can to try to get one.”

The Heat are winning 60% of their games ahead of this playoffs series, Boston has won seven of their last nine games overall.

While the Celtics have won six of the last seven meetings against Miami, only two of those were by more than the current spread.

Jayson Tatum is scoring 26.9 points per game with 8.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists for the Celtics and is listed with a scoring total of 26.5 for Sunday's game.

Payton Pritchard is averaging 15.6 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 54.7% over the last 10 games.

Bam Adebayo is averaging 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists for the Heat.

Herro is averaging 12.6 points over the last 10 games and comes in with a scoring total of 23.5 for Game 1.
