Petra Vlhova [SVK] is priced at -120 to win the Alpine Skiing Women Slalom at the Beijing Winter Olympics.  Mikaela Shiffrin [USA] was coming in at +110, making for a hotly contested event between only two qualifiers.  No one else had single digit odds.

Vlhova is a Slovak World Cup alpine ski racer who specialises in the technical events of slalom and giant slalom. Vlhová won the World Cup overall title in 2021, becoming the first Slovak skier to achieve this feat.

Shiffrin is an American two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and World Cup alpine skier and three-time Overall World Cup champion.  She is also a four-time world champion in slalom, and a six-time winner of the World Cup discipline title in that event.  At just under 19 years, Shiffrin became the youngest slalom champion in Olympic alpine skiing history.
