The 23-year-old Norwegian finished at 2-over 290 at Kiawah Island, eight strokes behind winner Phil Mickelson. But in Hovland’s two starts prior to the PGA, he recorded back-to-back T-3 finishes at the Wells Fargo and Valspar Championship.

He became the first Norwegian to win on the PGA Tour when he won the 2020 Puerto Rico Open.

He picked up his second PGA Tour win at the 2020 Mayakoba Golf Classic and previously won the 2018 U.S. Amateur.
